June 19 - 21
Kate competed in the AFLAC Outdoor Games in Columbus, GA. Kate and Raven placed 4th overall in the agility competition. Kate and Trick placed first in the Frisbee competition and are the 2009 Georgia Disc Dog Open Freestyle Champions. What a GREAT way to spend a Father's Day!

• Raven obtained her ADCH today. For many years Kate felt that this was an unobtainable goal. Today with the help of Darrell Stover and Envy we completed our quest with a first place finish in Pairs. Thanks to all of the instructors, people we have paired with, and all of those who cheered us on without all of you this would NEVER would have been possible.

Trick placed second in the 16th annual GADDC Disc Dog Spring Championships. This was Kate and Tricks second competition in the Frisbee world. They placed 6th at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon. There are apparently big thing on the horizon for this sweet little Border Collie.

• Ekko continues to progress in class. She is obviously enjoying being back. We continue to keep her under close observation for any signs of discomfort. So far the news continues to be GREAT !

The next weeks are very busy with shows and demos at least one each week.

 Some of
you might have noticed that we have removed the American Cancer Demos that were planed for Columbus, GA. This is due to unrealistic demands from the local Animal Control. It was great reservation that we cancelled our participation, because it is a GREAT cause.

For those who have been asking, Ekko is doing well and has rejoined her agility training class at Sirius. We hope to see her competing soon if all goes well. Thank you all for your concern.

March 27 - 29
• This weekend we are attending the AKC Agility Nationals in Concord, NC. We attend not as competitors, but as workers. We have been working hard this year to complete Raven's ADCH, so we did not compete much in the AKC venue. It will surely be a weekend of top-shelf agility, and spending time with friends and meeting new ones.

• Ekko completed her treatment today. She continues to improve, and it would appear that after a rehab period that she will be returning to agility training. We will keep you updated on her status.

February 25, 2009
• Ekko had her second treatment today. She is now allowed 2 0 minute walks twice a day. She seems to be progressing nicely. Only time will tell her final outcome, but we continue to be very hopeful.

• Today Ekko was evaluated by Dr Castle, and she thinks that Ekko is a good candidate for Prolotherapy. Ekko will be starting the treatments on Wednesday February 18. The treatment will continue for 3 weeks, one treatment each week. Then there will be a period (4 weeks) of graduated increasing activity. We should know the outcome of the treatment in the first week of April.

Today we received news that no competitive dogs owner ever wants to receive. Ekko, one of our brightest up and coming stars, apparently has a partially torn ACL. In addition, x-rays revealed that she is horribly dysplastic. She will be scheduled to be evaluated by a specialist. Only time will tell if she will ever be able to compete in agility.
